Cycling on the Isle of Wight

A great way to see parts of the Island that would otherwise lay undiscovered. The Island boasts a network of great cycleways and quite lanes that help you to see the picturesque scenery the Island has to offer.

From the regular cyclist to the once a year rider there are options for everyone.

Cycle Hire is available from Isleofwighthire.co.uk who have their offices 1st Call Car, Van & Cycle Hire in Sandown and Top Gear Vehicle Rentals Ltd in Cowes.

There are 13 Routes to choose from, some that link into one another and can be enjoyed back to back. For the brave there is also the Round the Island Route at 68 miles in length (not for the faint hearted or amatuer)
Please click below to find a more detailed description of each route and a map to follow

Route 1 Yarmouth

Overview The overview page shows routes 1 to 12 so that you can see how to link them together to further your rides. Route 13 is not shown but you can still decipher where the links occur.

Running from Cowes to Sandown also lies Route 23 which is a continuation of the route from the mainland. The route is approximately 13 miles in distance and uses the old railway network as a footprint.
